Welcome Reception
- Date: Monday 18th May
- Time: 18:30
- Place: Turku castle
Our welcome reception will take place in the Turku castle, in the courtyard of the main keep, originally built in the 13th century and finalized in the 15th. The courtyard of the bailey, constructed in the 15th and 16th centuries, will also be accessible. In case of inclement weather, we will instead be indoors in the glamorous King’s Hall, constructed for John III, the King of Sweden and Duke of Finland, in the 1550s.
The event will begin with a toast graciously provided by the city of Turku, and after some speeches you can enjoy a menu of cocktail bites with plenty of vegan options, and a bar with a varied drink selection, while you mingle with your fellow astronomers in this historic setting.
